Where is the conference located?
GUAMUN is hosted at the Hilton Guadalajara Midtown Hotel, next to the American School Foundation of Guadalajara.
Do I need MUN experience for GUAMUN?
GUAMUN is a friendly learning conference, while a degree of familiarity with Parliamentary Procedure and background research would be helpful. As well, GUAMUN counts with three committees by application for delegates with more experience in MUN.
Is there an age range for GUAMUN?
GUAMUN is opened to students ranging from 8th grade to 12th grade.
What do I need for the conference?
GUAMUN is an electronic based conference, so delegates won't need to print anything. They will need to bring a laptop since research and resolutions will be done online and shared.
What is the dress code?
The dress code for GUAMUN is Western Business attire. Women can wear formal dresses, suits, pantsuits, etc. Men need to come dress in suit and tie.
Are meals included?
Yes, we will have lunch, dinner and snacks included. As well, we will have vegetarian and vegan options.
Are position papers required?
Yes, only one position paper is required for GUAMUN, but it is highly encouraged for delegates to do both position papers to be highly knowledgeable in both topics. Those who don't submit a position paper won't be eligible for an award.
When should I pay for GUAMUN?
Early bird fee for GUAMUN will be $550 MXN or 28 USD and will open on October 1st and end on November 13th. After that, the regular fee for GUAMUN will be $700 MXN or 35 USD. The deadline for regular registration is December 11th, 2019.
If I am not attending GUAMUN anymore and I already paid, what should I do?
We do have refunds, just send us an email with your name. However, there won't be refunds after December 16th, 2019 since payments for the conference have been already made.
Do MUN advisors pay?
Yes, MUN advisors pay a $400 MXN or 20 USD fee.
What is included in the registration fee?
You will receive lunch and dinner, as well as snacks between the sessions. Delegates will also receive a goodie bag that will be useful throughout the conference.
Are high school and middle school students in the same committee?
No, high school and middle school students won't be in the committees. However, they will get the opportunity to interact with each other during breaks and the delegate dinner.
